The European Shakuhachi Summer School and Festival in Lisbon is open for bookings!

However, “the Shakuhachi Making Workshop”, which is just one of the many course within the Shakuhachi Festival and Summer School in Lisbon is fully booked.
Please contact the organisers if you want to join the waiting list for the shakuhachi making workshop.

FEES
The fees, listed below, cover all group teaching, concerts, and activities at the Summer School.

The shakuhachi making workshop (25th–26th July) is also included in the fees, although places are limited, and there are extra expenses for materials.

Accommodation and meals are not included. Participants will need to arrange their own accommodation and a list of hotels etc. will be available soon. If sufficient interest is expressed (by ticking the appropriate box in the registration form), the organisers will attempt to make a collective booking for rooms in Lisbon. Meals can be obtained easily and cheaply at the venue coffee shop and there are various cafes, bistros and restaurants nearby. A hot canteen meal will be available for lunch each day at a very affordable price.

Participants who register early (before 21^st April 2019) will obtain the early bird discount.

ESS members will also obtain a discount. (Please provide your ESS membership number on the registration form.) If you are not already an ESS member, please visit the ESS membership page to join.

Shakuhachi introductory level
1 day on Saturday 27th July (3 hours): €30
2 days on Saturday 27th + Sunday 28th July (6 hours total): €50

Koto and shamisen private lessons: €30
Koto and shamisen courses will be possible, if there are enough students. Please contact the organisers if you are interested.

PAYMENT
Bank transfer: Please download the registration form, and follow the instructions.

PayPal: Please use the button below for payment via PayPal.

Please remember that you will be officially registered once your payment is completed. Payment must be made in full at the time you make your application. Any fees related to bank transfers must be paid by the participants; if such fees are charged to ESS, they must be reimbursed to ESS in cash during registration at the event.

Cancellations requested before 1st July inclusive will receive a refund of the paid fee, less a cancellation fee of €40, via bank transfer from ESS. Unfortunately, we will not be able to refund fees for cancellations requested after 1st July.
